Nick Michaels
Founder • Recording Engineer • Studio Owner
Nick founded Mews Productions in 1990 after a successful career as a signed recording artist, songwriter and touring musician. His real-world experience in recording studios and on stages across the UK and Europe continues to shape the way he works with every client today.
Before establishing Mews Productions, Nick co-founded the rock band Bethnal, who signed to Phonogram Records, released two albums and six singles, completed a 28-day UK tour with Hawkwind, toured extensively throughout the UK and Europe, and headlined London’s Hammersmith Odeon (now the Eventim Apollo).
Today, Nick combines that experience with more than 35 years of running Mews Productions, helping singers, songwriters, voice artists, podcasters and businesses achieve confident, high-quality recordings in a relaxed, creative environment.
Every client receives the same personal attention from the first recording through to the finished production.

Phil Curran
Producer • Multi-Instrumentalist • Pianist
Before collaborating with Mews Productions, Phil spent many years performing on the live music circuit while developing his skills as a producer, pianist and multi-instrumentalist.
Working alongside Nick on selected larger productions, Phil has a natural ability to understand a client’s vision, creating arrangements and musical ideas that help bring songs to life.
His exceptional piano playing, musicianship and drum programming add an extra creative dimension to recording sessions.
